Death at a beauty pageant turns Tita Rosie’s Kitchen upside down in the latest entry of this witty and humorous cozy mystery series by Mia P. Manansala.
The second in the Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mystery Series. After the stressful events in the first book Lila and her friends are still recovering and adjusting to life.
Shady Palms has brought back their beauty pageant that Lila had won so she has been asked to volunteer. And the drama starts…
I enjoyed getting to know more about the characters in this book and the family drama this time around was digging up old wounds. We get to learn more about Lila’s mom and her pageant days.
But there’s a murder of one of the “pillars of the community” who is also a judge and it’s not the best person so it could have been anyone.
It wasn’t who I thought it was!
And the food!! I need to go get some of all this food and drinks but I’m not sure if Lila’s special recipes are at any restaurant. I’m gonna go look though! I need the Bru-ha Cafe in my town!
❓ What is a series you are excited to continue?
BTW guys my HoSaB just shipped and I have tracking, dare I hope I get it before next week 😂😱
✨I have a few pics with my iPad that I took before the incident so you may see it a few more times but it is gone ⚰️
Thank you berkleyromance and netgalley for the e-ARC for the honest and voluntary review.
Things are heating up for Lila Macapagal. Not in her love life, which she insists on keeping nonexistent despite the attention of two very eligible bachelors. Or her professional life, since she can’t bring herself to open her new cafe after the unpleasantness that occurred a few months ago at her aunt’s Filipino restaurant, Tita Rosie’s Kitchen. No, things are heating up quite literally, since summer, her least favorite season, has just started.
To add to her feelings of sticky unease, Lila’s little town of Shady Palms has resurrected the Miss Teen Shady Palms Beauty Pageant, which she won many years ago–a fact that serves as a wedge between Lila and her cousin slash rival, Bernadette. But when the head judge of the pageant is murdered and Bernadette becomes the main suspect, the two must put aside their differences and solve the case–because it looks like one of them might be next.
