Olivia is an attorney but her secret passion is to be a stand-up comedian. After she loses her position at her firm she decides to go full time with her comedy.. She lands an audition on the late show and has a cross country tour. She is traveling with the other comedian on the show, Nick, and there is so much fun banter, hotel issues, one bed problems etc.
I love Amanda’s humor and enjoyed Delia Suits Up too! A mix of humor and serious life issues. Being a woman in any field seems to a disadvantage but certain industries are even worse and mysognistic. Comedy has a lot of females but it’s still very male heavy. It’s fun getting to be on tour and feel the bombed show and the successful shows. As she works her confidence up for the big audition while getting to know Nick better.
Also dealing with loss and parents and our own ideas of what our life should be.
I’ve read some comedians memoirs and after what happened to Chris Rock being on stage making jokes it tough and hecklers be dangerous. But I can see how the high of getting people to laugh is addictive. I love to make my husband and friends laugh 😂
❓ Have you been to a comedy show?
My parents sat in front at a Don Rickles show and he teased my dad and his socks and he hated that guy forever lol. No one likes to be the butt of the joke.
I’ve seen Terry Fator in Vegas, he’s amazing!

Synopsis:
Two down-on-their-luck comedians embark on a road tour and find more than a few good laughs on the way.
Olivia Vincent dreams of stand-up comedy stardom. Bustling around a busy Manhattan office by day and hustling from club to club by night, she can’t catch a break. Work is falling through the cracks, and after ditching a major client to make a performance, Olivia gets the boot.
Determined to pursue her dreams, she snags an audition in Los Angeles for a coveted spot on late-night TV. But the only way to get there is to join Nick Leto, a seasoned stand-up, on a cross-country road tour. She agrees on one condition—no funny business.
Icky comedy condos, tiny smoking nightclubs, and Nick’s incessant classic rock radio are a far cry from life on the Upper East Side. Reality sets in, and Olivia wonders if she can hack it in showbiz or if she’s just a hack. As Nick helps Olivia improve her act along the way, sparks begin to fly and ignite what they thought was an impossible flame. Maybe being stuck with Nick in a Jeep isn’t so bad. As long as it doesn’t get in the way of Olivia’s actual funny business.
