The magic and enchantment was so much more in-depth in this book. The world has set up even the hierarchy of the spirit structure so the action and politics is heavier in this book. We get to go to the West and see how they live and they have more of a warrior outlook than the village life in the East. There is so much magic and veils of spirit realms. There are ulterior motives and a romance trying to survive through everything.

These characters are so well developed and I could read another book with them. With Adaira, Jack, Torin and especially Sidra.

Synopsis:

This was my botm pick months ago. Just finished in time for the release of the 2nd book. This has feels of Scottish lore with the plaids and nature spirits. The first book really set up the differences between the two lands and how they are divided. The connection between Adaira and Jack grew and became solid. There were some interesting reveals at the end which may help with the issues they are having between the clans and the spirits. But it doesn’t always work out that way. I just love how they can communicate through the wind.
